Meet the "Counts"

Mark Karwan sings the melody of the song and therefore he is given the title of "lead". His commanding voice makes him a natural leader. Although fairly new to Barbershop harmony, Mark has transposed his wonderful church choir voice, into a fine Barbershop harmony melody singing voice. While pursuing two of his college degrees, he sang in the Baltimore Opera Chorus. Don't worry... he doesn't use his "opera voice" in the quartet.

The professor's day job finds him at the University of Buffalo.

Mark and his wife Sabina (of 30 years) reside in North  Buffalo, where they raised four children.

Bim Rowlands has recently joined our quartet as Bass. He is a man of over 20 years of Barbershop experience and is the foundation of our quartet. His Musical background is extensive in the area of both vocal and instrumental presentation over the past 50 years.

He is married to a wonderful gal approaching 40 years in 2004.  Their marriage resulted in three married children and seven grand children.  He also holds an AAS degree in Banking, Insurance and Real Estate and a BS degree in Business Resource Development and is currently active in the real estate business as an Associate Broker with a Century 21 brokerage in Western New York.

His fondest hobby is Barbershop, singing with two chapter Choruses and two Quartets.  His second hobby is Corvette cars and their restoration and driving.  Time permitting he enjoys golf and Computers.

The Baritone is the "cement" that binds the quartet together. Jim Grove is the newest member of the Four Counts. He is an experienced Barbershopper and is working hard to learn our repertoire, so we can continue performing.

Jim is a retired teacher. With his wife, Gail, he lives just outside Buffalo, in Clarence, NY

Bob Weekley is the sweet sounding "tenor" who's wonderful sound you hear floating just above the rest of the quartet parts. He brings over 25 years of  Barbershop singing experience, and has held many positions in the Buffalo, NY chapter of our Barbershop Harmony Society, most recently, President.

He provides stability for our quartet (especially in high winds).

Bob is very active at his church and often prays that he hits all those high Tenor notes when he sings!

Bob and his lovely wife Carol have been married for 35 years and live in Cheektowaga, where they raised two children and are now enjoying their five wonderful grandchildren.

Bob is our contact and can provide information if you are interested in the Four Counts performing at your next function.
